Stoken Adds PDRA Summer Drags Title; Ahli, Pittman, Garner-Jones Also Win

(06-28-15) MARTIN, MI - Twenty-four hours after making the first 3.60s eighth-mile pass in Pro Nitrous history to qualify first for the Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) Summer Drags, Pat Stoken left U.S. 131 Motorsports Park, located halfway between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo in Western Michigan, as the event winner, too.

"Wow, what a weekend. It's like a dream; only dreams end like this," the logging company owner from Eureka, MT, said. "To become the quickest nitrous car in the world and then to win the race, geez, it's just unbelievable. I'm not even sure I could believe if we hadn't just lived through it."

Also earning pro class wins were Bader Ahli with his

Stoken Breaks ET Barrier; Reid, Moyer also Qualify No. 1 at PDRA Summer Drags

(06-27-15) MARTIN, MI - With a 3.69-seconds pass at 201.07 miles per hour, Pat Stoken not only secured the provisional top spot in Switzer Dynamics Pro Nitrous qualifying for the 2nd annual Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) Summer Drags at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park; he wrote his name into the record books as the first nitrous-boosted doorslammer driver ever to cover an eighth mile in less than 3.70 seconds.

"When I saw that .69 come up on the scoreboard I couldn't believe it," said Stoken, who immediately thanked sons Corey and Casey, engine builder Reher-Morrison, crew chief Brandon Switzer and car builder Rick Jones for their help in achieving the milestone. "This is a big deal. It'll

Keith Haney, Keith Haney Racing in the mix for first 3.6-second Pro Nitrous pass

(06-26-15) MARTIN, MI - When the pundits consider Pro Nitrous drivers capable of dipping into the 3.6-second range in the Professional Drag Racers Association ranks, they often think of several capable contenders, but they better not forget about Keith Haney and his Keith Haney Racing team at this weekend's PDRA Summer Drags at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park.

"They're looking for Jay Cox, Travis Harvey, Jason Harris, Tommy Franklin, and all them boys," Haney said. "They're expecting all those guys to run the 3.69 because they've been a little bit closer. Well, all of a sudden, here comes a Midwest boy."

That's Tulsa, Okla.'s Haney, of course. With a new

Dina Parise leaves IHRA Presidents Cup on a High Note

(06-24-15) MECHANICSVILLE, MD - For those who have been following the Pro Mod career of Dina Parise, you are most likely well aware of her ‘relationship’ with Maryland International Raceway. Beginning in the days back when Dina Parise Racing was a two car husband and wife Pro Mod team leading to now, there is a rich history both good and miserably bad at MDIR. For Dina, the last time she left there it was on bad terms. She was determined to change that and for all intents and purposes, she did. Although the events leading into the race week made it seem as if her history may have been setting a precedent for her upcoming week.

This DPR team is no stranger to adversity as of late. Seemingly, someone has not been owning up

Dragstock XII Will Return to Rockingham Dragway

(06-24-15) PITTSBORO, NC - PDRA Dragstock XII, originally on schedule to be run at GALOT Motorsports Park, will now return to Rockingham Dragway, September 11-13. GALOT Motorsports Park’s expected completion date for the track overhaul has been pushed back to 2016, and as a result the track was forced to cancel all races on schedule for this year. PDRA Race Director, Bob Harris, reached out to Rockingham Dragway, the home of Dragstock in recent years, quickly securing the facility for the PDRA’s marquee event.

“We are disappointed that we will not run at GALOT this year,” told Harris, “but we understand that they are creating a world class facility and want it to be right before opening. We appreciate GALOT giving us enough

(06-22-15) BRISTOL, TN - BELL / FISCUS RACING (BFR) made it through to the NHRA Pro Mod semi-finals at the 15th annual NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway in Bristol, Tennessee on June 19th-21st, 2015.

JEGS.com father/son Pro Mod team enjoys special Father's Day in Bristol

(06-22-15) BRISTOL, TN - Father's Day was a special time for the JEGS.com father/son Pro Mod team of Troy Coughlin Sr. and Troy Coughlin Jr., even though both drivers fell short of winning the NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Series event as part of the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals on Sunday at Bristol Dragway.

Both drivers lost to No. 1 Bob Rahaim, as Troy Sr. fell in the semifinals and Troy Jr. in the second round.

"We both could've been in the semifinals," Troy Sr. said. "We would've had to run each other, and we would've had one of the JEGS cars in the final. That would've been great."

Still, racing together on Father's Day was "a lot of fun," Troy Jr.
