GALOT Drivers Dominate in GALOT Motorsports Pro Boost

(06-30-16) PITTSBORO, NC - There have been only two unique winners in GALOT Motorsports Pro Boost this season and both of those also happen to come from the GALOT Motorsports camp. Kevin Rivenbark came out swinging this year, winning the first three events. Teammate John Strickland ran beside him in the Dallas final. At the most recent Summer Drags at US 131 Motorsports Park, Rivenbark went out in round two, meaning that for the first time this year someone else would walk away with the Pro Boost trophy. Strickland continued to march through the competition, taking out Todd Moyer, Steve Summers, and Ric Fleck before meeting EKanoo Racing’s Gary White in the final. White had been the one to put Rivenbark on the trailer earlier and as the world’s quickest and fastest import car, was making a big splash in Pro Boost competition. White was unable to best two GALOT drivers on race day, however, as the machine couldn’t make the staging call and Strickland cruised to victory, unopposed, posting the quickest time of the day, a 3.822. Coupled with his .030 reaction time, he would have been hard to beat.

Dina Parise Racing NMCA All American Nationals Recap

(06-30-16) INDIANAPOLIS, IN - ‘The heat is on!’ That was certainly the term for the NMCA All American Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway this past weekend. With temperatures well into the 90 degree range and a track temperature of 140 degrees, you could fry Metballs on the starting line! Temperature aside, the racing and track conditions were phenomenal!

This was the first of the three race deal for Dina Parise Racing and Aerospace Components. The team did not only represent Aerospace on the track, they were a fixture on the manufacturer’s midway as well. “What an exciting way to spend a race weekend!” Said Dina Parise “We were honored that Aerospace and NMCA wanted DPR as representatives on the midway. We had a blast with

Big Change To The Caddy CTS-V Pro Mod

(06-30-16) HAGERSTOWN, MD - After making the fix inside the converter that we did not know was broken in Dallas, it was off to Michigan for stop number four of the PDRA season. We went into the weekend feeling good about the Caddy's potential.

After getting things all ready to go, we opted for some testing on Thursday evening to see if the converter repair solved our issues. Two passes made and both them straight and true had us thinking we were headed in the right direction with a last hit of .922, 3.68/208 in 2700 feet of air and the motor all nice and rich and happy!

The first qualifier on Friday gave us up a 3.74 run that would be guaranteed

» Franklin sets both ends of track record at darlington eopm event

(06-30-16) DARLINGTON, SC - With several oil downs and crashes that ran the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod event into the VERY late of night, there were some positive results. CV Products, Matt Giangrande was on hand to award qualifying bonuses to the #4 and #8 qualifier for the event. At #4 was Jason Harris with Larry Pearce, and his Chevy Cobalt getting the $250.00 for the #8 spot. After much delay for weather and the aforementioned oil downs, the second round of qualifying got underway at a late 9:30 and resulted in a 3.78 et blast by Tommy Franklin with a 201 MPH speed. Both are Darlington Dragway records. Congratulations to Tommy and his whole crew. Other drivers in attendance were Chris Rini, managing a 3.87 first round et, Chris Patrick, with tuning help from Jay Cox, Tommy Mauney, and Todd Howard. Randy Weatherford did yeomans work behind the wheel avoiding a potentially disastrous crash when a front tire let go. The result was only minimal damage.

You Can’t Keep a Good Man Down

(06-30-16) PITTSBORO, NC - In March of this year PDRA Pro Extreme pilot, Terry Leggett, went in for a regular eye checkup. He walked away with a long list of upcoming appointments and treatment options. Leggett had melanoma eye cancer.

“Back in March I went for just a regular eye checkup and found out I had a melanoma tumor in my eye. The week during Rockingham I had a radioactive plaque put in my eye. It stayed in for five days and then they removed it. I really won’t know anything about the tumor for another five or six weeks. That’s when they’ll do all the resizing of the tumor to see if the radiation killed it or not. I’ll wind up having to have my thyroid removed, too. Probably sometime in July. There’s a strong enough possibility of
