Baby Pro Mods
Could someone tell me what the so-called Baby Pro Mods like Edmund Hall runs in the 1/8 and the size of the typical motors they have.

Baby Pro Mods are what some poeple call the car that run the outlaw 10.5 races. Simply put there back halved cars with stock front frame rails. They have to be stret legal lights ,horn ,and most importantly run through mufflers.they run on 10.5W tires(which is the great equalizer) and weigh 3000lbs and 3200 with a clutch. Engines range from 706 nitrous motors to small blocks with turbos to cars that have blown alcohol big blocks. E.T.s are in the 4.70's and races pay anywhere from 5 to 25 thousand to win. you can find more info about them at Brainard Optimist and Macons web sites
It is a great show with a street racing feel

You've got it wrong The Baby Pro Mods are a Group
run by Edmond Hall out of Montgomery Al(i Believe)
thay are Nitrous only Pro Mods with a 4.35 Breakout to keep cost down and they do not show times on the boards sothe spectators cant tell a 4.70 from a 4.30. Ive heard you are suppose to be a black owner or driver to run with this group but i do know of 2 people running with them that dont meet that qualification. They run 500 to 706 cu in motors with lencos and automatics. That about all i know.

I could not agree more about the 10.5 cars. They are a thrill to watch, but I think it is only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured. The cars that I have seen up close are no more than a backhalved bracket car. With stock suspensions upfront. Running on the edge all the time. Im sure there are some quality safe cars out there, but I don't really follow the class enough to glo into detail. Im just going on what I saw at a race in Twiggs County last year.

Hey superford out of curiousity who are that two that don't fit the criteria. I have always heard if you bet Edmund Hall too many times you will be out of the circuit. But that just may be a rumor. I really don't know.

the outlaw 10.5 cars are wild1 but some of them are being called "illegal" because they have stuff changed in the front or the look like a pro stock car or some stupid reason. I live down the road from a chassis builder and have another one pretty close who built one of the cars that was illegal now. These cars form to the rule with stock front end but the back end is just like any pro mod. These cars are safe, andmost of the ones that whoever says are legal are the death traps. just my 2 cents bout that idea

About the outlaw 10.5 deal, I really enjoy watching them, but You have a very valid point about safety. Everyone running in the 4 second range should be in a certified "race car". I have seen on many occasions a 4 second "street car" pull up next to me at a stop light.NOT...Seems like when the innovators of the outlaw movement became concerned about safety at those speeds and built cars to handle that duty, They were told that their cars didn't fit into the "spirit of the rules"????Go figure... It is only a matter of time before someone is killed(I'm afraid).I pray that it doesn't happen.
