Thumbs up The new Atmore Dragway

I talked to Gary Moore tonight about the track and all the new renovations they have made to the facility and he mentioned that they are finally getting the 2013 schedule worked out and he has been in contact with other track owners and pro mod racers about some dates for some races this year. They have completely dug up the old track surface and are almost complete with a new all concrete 1/8 mile surface w/ many upgrades and improvements. He wants to get some Big pro mod events back like they had back in the day. He has been in contact with some big name racers with some really fast Pro-mod cars that will support the events. Stay tuned for the dates soon...... Please pass on the word and help support Gary and his staff for trying to give us fans and racers the chance to see Pro-mod racing back at Atmore Dragway.

Hard to believe that there is a track in Alabama I've never been to, but... Never been to Atmore!

Re: The new Atmore Dragway

I took this picture tonight as they were shooting laser measurements for the new timing systems. And they only had a 1/4 off the new lights on . I was told the track has more than the required nhra legal lighting to contest a would be national event. The place has come along way from years past , but they are definetly giving the place a complete makeover. Should be first class by the end of March

Re: The new Atmore Dragway

Yes , eventually probably not this year cause they are trying to finish up and start running within around 3-4 weeks or so . But yes Concrete guardrails have been discussed and will be installed in the near future.

Re: The new Atmore Dragway

I think some lovely flowers and mulch will look better along the guard rails. Coastal Bermuda will do for the median.
