ADRL Pro Extreme Woes At US 131 - Not again!!!

(07-30-12) HAGERSTOWN, MD - Of course it was ANOTHER one of those weekends! Just when we think we have turned the corner, that wicked Fate woman bites us right in the buttocks!

Off we went to the wonderful facility known as the US 131 Motorsports Park to see how we would fare against the best of the best in the ADRL Pro Extreme pro mod arena yet again. This facility has been good to us and to me in particular over a fair amount of years. I still proudly wear my winner’s jacket from the very last American Muscle Car Series/Popular Hot Rodding shootout that was ran in conjunction with Roger Gustin’s Autostar Productions Super Chevy Show!

They completely redid the track at the end of that race to become the fantastic facility it is now. Kevin McCurdy’s little small block Chevy took on all comers that weekend. He sent them all home wondering how he did what he did to them!

But as usual I have gotten off track a bit, BUT since I love Trivia 101, I like to think everyone else does… So humor me please.

The Appalachia on Steroids Camaro did AGAIN to us what it has done all year! Throw us a little bone and when we go to pick it up, what’s it do? Ya got it in one! It bites the hand that feeds it! (Hundred dollar bills, of course in case anyone didn’t know what it ate!) Three tries at the track and ANOTHER number SEVENTEEN qualifier! As our friend Garret Livingston of Garret Race Cars said to us, as did Mike Janis of JanCen Engines “The car leaves the line great but it just doesn’t go.

So we brought “Da Orange Ho” (we have decided to bring that old moniker out of mothballs!) home and set about going through things. John convinced me that I was all wrong when I wanted to jack the car up and drive something completely different under the left front wheel!

We looked and studied and thought about all the things we had experienced this year and took the good from it and tried to eliminate the bad and made some decisions! We have made some wholesale changes in the fuel and ignition systems and Charlotte shall let us know if they were right, wrong or indifferent!
