Dillard / Petty / R2B2 Testing

The crew is at PBIR testing the promod with an 88mm turbo and automatic combo. When you see Steve standing behind a ride, you know it will fly, just give it time...

The first pass resulted in tire shake...

The second pass yielded a 4.00 to the 1/8 on a planned shutoff (looked like a 6.0 lap based on data)...

Third pass resulted in a broken transmission...

Awesome. That is one sweet looking ride, especially without all the contingency stickers...I can't wait for the season to get underway.

Re: Dillard / Petty / R2B2 Testing

No kidding... While I don't know Brad Personett, his numbers speak for themselves, without question the man!

I do know Steve Petty, and while they don't have a ton of big tire experience, I have no doubt he and Eric will FLY!

Cool, Brian! Thanks for the pics. I've been wondering how R2B2 was doing.

Any word on if there will be any changes to Brad's car this year?

I hope these guys will still be here at Palm Beach this weekend for the winter warmup show. I will be there both days, taking pictures and buying shirts.

Guys if Steve is working with them then everyone should watch out cause sooner or later the car will FLY.

Just think of a Pit Bull that won't give up and know that it will be hell to pay...once Steve gets the combo right watch out.

Good luck to Steve and R2B2

Go Steve.

Re: Dillard / Petty / R2B2 Testing

After breaking two tranny's ( well, the repaired tranny broke the 2nd time) and getting new parts, Eric Dillard just ran another 4.0 @ 191. I do not know what the 1/4 numbers are at this time. From the top end, it looked like he did a full pull.

Cool! Thanks for the updates, Roger. It's a big help for all of us not lucky enough to be there.

Looks like the team is getting that car whipped in to shape with a quickness.

Maybe some video will creep up on YouTube and we can see this thing go!

Also, it appears that the team might want to switch the 91 on the window to 88.

I would bet its a McAmis with a modified wing. At first I thought it was the Mikel's old car before they said it was built in house.

A great start for the 1/4 mile runs. I have no doubt that they'll have this car 5.80's before they leave.

Yeah! Great news but not surprising. You knew this team would be doing big things.

Hope someone is taking some video!

Re: Dillard / Petty / R2B2 Testing

I'm just thinking out loud. Maybe someone will have an answer or two.

Will Roger, Eric, and Brad all be campaigning rides this year? If so, there is a third car we don't know about if all will be running turbo cars.

Is Brad helping with the tuneups on this car? I'm assuming so.

Will Brad's car undergo any changes this year or stay the same as last year?

Has to be a doorslammer record speed for a converter right? I know there were some big numbers up north with a screw/converter? But was it a 255?

I believe this is unofficially the 3rd fastest pass of all time. Brads 255.3something is the fastest legal pass and Von Smith supposedly went 256+ in Qatar.
