Leggett sees progress at Texas Drags

Leggett sees progress at Texas Drags

(07-28-10) Pineville NC - Terry Leggett returned to the ADRL UTI Texas Drags, after making lots of changes from the rained out March event. Terry ran a 40 Ford in the March event, but shortly after the event he sold the 40 Ford, and took possession of his new TM 2009 Ford Mustang, Terry also hired Pro Extreme Quain Stott to take over tuning duties on the car. "We made a lot of changes between the rain out and the rescheduled event, exciting changes that can only help our team in the long run." Leggett said.

Terry was able to qualify for the rained out event with a 4.11 taking the #16 spot, and setting up a 1st round elimination match up with Josh Hernandez. Leggett made a good run of 3.93, buit Hernandez was in a class of his own running a 3.77. Leggett was one of only 5 cars to run 3.9s in the heat, with a track temp in the 140's and the air temp hovering in the high 90's. "Of course I am disappointed to be out in the first round, but we are happy to be able to be in the field and running so well in the heat. Quain has his work cut out for him, and to be able to run the fastest of the weekend, well I cant be unhappy to be making improvements." Leggett said.

The 3.93 was enough to put Leggett in the 12th spot for the second event, "We had a few issues, we broke a transmission during qualifying, and were hard pressed to get it back together in time for the 1st round of eliminations." Leggett said. In the 1st round of eliminations Leggett would have to match up with the #4 qualifier KH Al-Thani. Legbone as Terry is known, was able to cut a light 0.027 and give AL-Thani a strong run until half track when the car went into tire shake and he was forced to let off, running a 5.06 to the 4.07 of Al Thani.

Baytown Ford was able to put together a sponsorship with Terry for this event, "We are happy to see a Ford running against a bunch of Chevy's and to have such a good showing at our home track, the ADRL brings a lot of interest when they come to town, and having our name on the side of a car in the fastest class of ADRL, is a great marketing tool. Chris Harrison of Ignite Motorsports was able to put together a deal that was worthwhile for us at Baytown Ford, and to Legbone Racing."
