We are here at Huntsville Dragway for some fast paced Promod action this weekend!!

Alex & the crew here at Huntsville had the track looking awesome, but unfortunately we have just watched it rain for the last 45 minutes or so. It has stopped & the sun is trying to peak back out...

We hope to keep everything dressed up & ready for a little test & tune followed by the first round of Qualifying around 9:00pm.

Hey Brian.....this is the first time I have ever missed a race. Got a sick dog at home that we have had for 13 years. May get to come tomorrow. Tell my ole "senior citizen" to stay off the wall!!

Tim Tindle's ride is here, I understand that Tim will be here in the morning. Also, Charles Carpenter, Joey Martin, R.E. Smith, Dwayne Watkins, Bennie McDonald are in the house.

We also have some long distance racers here... Jimmy Dudley is here in a sweet Bickel NOS Camaro from St. Louis, Judd Coffman in a late model Mustang with a twin turbo charged BBF from Illinois & finally Josh Harmon with a late model Monte Carlo with a twin turbo charged SBC from Indiana!

I believe Harmon has tuning help from local turbo guru Travis Quillen.

We are in the middle of our test & tune session. Dwayne Watkins made a hit, driving right into tire shake. R.E. Smith followed up right behind him with a nice 4.05... Looks like Alex and the boys have done an excellent job getting the track back in shape!!!!

It was definately a tricky session with the previous rain & the dew setting in quickly. A fog rolled across halfway through the session that was wild...

Joey Martin had a .958 60' time put had to slap the throttle on his pass, likewise R.E. had lots of shake after a .982 60' time...

Coffman made a smooth clean pass in the turbocharged Mustang.

Charles Carpenter was on a real nice lap before he headed towards the centerline & had to roll out of the throttle.

We have confirmed that Tim Tindle, Ron Stokes & Brandon Snider will be here tomorrow, so we should have an excellent show tomorrow.

Hopefully I don't jinx it, but the weather forcast looks much better, hopefully we have a great day of racing!

We will open the track to time trials at 12:00pm & Qualifying Round #2 will commence at 3:00pm.

Tim Tindle did arrive this morning along with Ron Stokes & Brandon Snider.

Tim Tindle made a lap, driving into tire shake...

The whole Tindle camp is here today... TJ in the junior, Heather in her dragster, Tim has his dragster here for the bracket class & the legal promod in on display as well.

Brandon Snider also made a lap... After a .982 60' time, he had some pretty stout tireshake that resulted in a broken wishbone.

Charles Carpenter is excited about his chances today... The short numbers last night were outstanding, .960 60' & 2.62 to the 330' after lifting 2.4 into the run... He was on a SHOT...

I love charlie carpenter also but dont count out dw this morning when i talked to him he said he left soft and had to get out on the top end because of dew puter says 3.80!!! Also i asked if hes gonna sit on that # and he said hell no!!!

R.E. Smith opened the round with a nice 4.09 to get him up to the #4 spot.

Joey Martin broke the blower belt right at the hit of the throttle...

Bennie McDonald had MAJOR shake & had to lift alongside Don Roddy who made a nice lap to get to the #5 spot.

Excellent run by the legend Charles Carpenter best of the round to carry the NOS ride to the #2 spot!!!

Ron Stokes and Dwayne Watkins were side by side, Stokes leaving before the tree was activated. After a delay to check the timing system, Dwayne elected to pull out, comfortable with his position.

Brandon Snider also left before the tree was activated.

Jimmy Dudley has been struggling with the automatic Camaro & had problems again... Tim Tindle was already back from the burnout & in the beams when Dudley finally started his... Dudley was held & Tindle given a single. Tim drove into huge shake & got very crossed up, pedaling a couple times...

We have pushed the final qualifying round to around 6:30 to get some brackets done & maybe a little cooler racetrack.

Tim Tindle dropped a bolt out of the blower hat down into the motor after the first round. They pulled the blower & heads, found one of the bolts laying on top of the piston with amazingly NO damage... They slapped it back together & proceeded to jump right into the field...

Dwayne Watkins left before the tree was activated...

Brandon Snider blew the tires off right at hit of the throttle & will not make the field...

Charles Carpenter could enter the bracket race, running another fine 4.03...

R.E. Smith improved his position in the field. Bennie McDonald was to be beside R.E. but popped a burst panel right when they fired the motor, but he survived on the bump spot.

Ron Stokes recovered nicely from his earlier troubles to get solidly in the field...

And then.... Joey Martin lowered the BOOM on the field with a killer run, after what looked like a very quick pedal with killer MPH!!!
