Ohio native and reigning Pro Mod champ Troy Coughlin Sr. eyes second Norwalk title

(06-23-16) NORWALK, OH - Two-time and reigning Pro Mod champion Troy Coughlin Sr. of Delaware, Ohio, says this year's stop in Northeast Ohio is coming at the perfect time for his Chevrolet Corvette race team.

Coughlin, who earned the NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod crown in both 2012 and 2015, has a budding love affair with Bill Bader's beautiful facility in his home state, having won the Norwalk trophy in 2014 and coming within a whisker of doing the same in 2012.

"We only have 10 races on the Pro Mod schedule, so victories are even more precious to us," Coughlin said. "To have won here in 2014, in our backyard, it was a pretty incredible deal;

With four races complete, Cox has been in three finals, securing wins twice. This has been enough to put him in first place, just over 400 points ahead of Travis Harvey.

The Carolina good ‘ol boy says he never dreamed he’d be in this position. “When I was playing baseball I used to tune in and watch all these guys running Pro Nitrous,” told the former minor league player. “I always dreamed about doing it and never thought I’d have a chance.
